Gold and silver works

“The 'enjoyed' flora and fauna are also a part of reality, but this time transmuted. In this case, it involves sculptures of animals, plants, and flowers, created using a technique in which the object to be reproduced (different types of scorpions and frogs, snakes, small bromeliads, orchids, and cactus bulbs, among others) is used directly as a mold. In this way, the same being (the dead scorpion, for example) is transmuted into another (gold or silver scorpion) that retains its identity (scorpion). Regarding these pieces, the artist stated that by 'converting' them from organic matter into gold, they should not be seen as jewelry; he also pointed out: 'In this work, one material becomes another; from the first, only the structure and form will remain; the second will become a kind of shell. It is a transfiguration.'
